  7. 任期:3年(任期終了後、2年以内の更新可、ただし、本学在職期間の合計10年以内)
  8. 応募資格: 博士の学位を有し、教育と研究に情熱を持っている方で、英語での授業が可能な方。なお、本公募では、男女雇用機会均等法第8条(女性労働者に係る措置に関する特例)の規定により、上記の研究分野における女性教員を募集します。

  11. 選考過程 
    1. 書類による一次選考。
    2. 面接による二次選考。英語による模擬講義もお願いします。9月から10月に早稲田大学において行う予定ですが、旅費は支給しません。
  12. 勤務時間、休日・休暇、就業場所等
    1. 所定労働日および勤務時間(始業・終業時刻、休憩時間)等は、本学規程による。
      なお、専門業務型裁量労働制を適用し、研究業務の性質上、業務遂行の手段及び時間配分の決定等については本人の裁量に委ねるものとする。
    2. 休日は、土曜日、日曜日、年末年始、国民の祝日、国民の祝日の一部に授業を実施することにより設ける臨時の休業日および大学創立記念日とする。但し、大学があらかじめ授業を実施すると定めた日を除く。
    3. 休暇は、労働基準法等法令に定められた休暇および、大学が特に定めた日(年始、夏季一斉休業等)とする。
    4. 就業場所は、原則として早稲田大学各キャンパスとする。

    1. 給与・通勤費:本学規程により支給する。
    2. 夏期手当・年末手当・退職金:支給しない。
    3. 社会保険:厚生年金・健康保険・労災保険・雇用保険に加入する。

**グローバルリサーチャー養成科目群(Education Subjects for Global Researchers)とは、以下の6科目の総称です。

5. ”Diversity and Multiculturalism in Research”
6. ”Research Design and Analysis”

Application Guidelines for a Full-time Faculty Position (without tenure) 

Major in Chemistry, Global Center for Science and Engineering, Waseda University  

  1. Position: Female Associate Professor without tenure (3 years first, 5 years maximum)
  2. Number of faculty to be hired: 1
  3. Field of specialization: Organic chemistry, Physical chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Analytical chemistry, or Biochemistry
  4. Work responsibilities:
    1. Chief subjects: Lectures and Experiments in Major in Chemistry, English-based undergraduate program
    2. Other work duties will be assigned according to the University / School regulations. (e.g. Entrance exam related work; administrative work, etc.)
    3. Other relevant aspects will be announced along with the result of the selection process.
  5. Salary and benefits:
    1. Duty Hours: Scheduled working days and working hours (when you start/finish, rest periods) are based on the university regulations. The discretionary labor system for professional work will be applied to research work. Working hours and the way to proceed with work are at the discretion of the Assistant or Associate Professor without tenure.
    2. Salary and Commutation Expenses: provided in accordance with university regulations
    3. Summer and Year-end Bonus Compensation, and Severance/retirement benefits, shall not be provided.
    4. Holidays: Saturdays, Saturdays, Sundays, New Year Holidays, National Holidays, Substitute holidays (instead of the national holidays on which you work in a year.) and University Anniversary (excluding the days on which the University decided to have classes)
      Leave: provided in accordance with Labor Standards Act, and (1) New Year’s holidays and (2) summer holidays are also University holidays.
    5. Social Insurance: The employee shall be enrolled in the Employee's Pension Insurance, Health Insurance, Workmen's Compensation Insurance, and Employment Insurance.
    6. Place of Work: The work shall be in principle performed at a Waseda University Campus.
  6. Date of employment: In principle, April 1, 2018
  7. Qualifications:
    1. Ph.D. or equivalent research profile
    2. A demonstrated ability to teach in English
    3. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred
    4. Proficiency in Japanese is preferred
    5. Candidates must be female

    1. A letter of application in English, explaining your interest in and suitability for the faculty position at Major in Chemistry, Global Center for Science and Engineering, Waseda University.
    2. A curriculum vitae and related information in English. Please note whether you have a tenured position or not. Also indicate the title(s) in Japanese if you have position(s) in Japan.
    3. List of publications. Please list original articles, proceedings, books and others separately. For publications provide the title, year, publisher and place of publication. Please mark the titles of refereed publications with an asterisk. With regard to forthcoming publications, please submit a letter from the publisher/journal editor verifying that they have been accepted for publication. In case of non-English research accomplishments, both English and original titles should be provided.
    4. Reprints of up to five most important publications.
    5. Summary of research experience and outcome (within four pages, A4 size).
    6. List of externally funded grants. Please indicate whether you were a principal investigator or a co-investigator.
    7. Research plan (within four pages, A4 size). 
    8. Teaching experience and interests.
    9. Language skills (native language, proficiency in other languages, for non-native English speakers please list the periods you have studied or taught in an English language environment.)
    10. Photocopy of diploma of highest degree(s).
    11. The names and contact information for two referees (please include their position and affiliation as well as a phone number and email address).
    12. Other relevant information, if necessary.

  11. Selection Process:
    1. Preliminary screening will be based on the application documents. Candidates who pass the first stage of the selection process will be notified to the e-mail address stated in their curriculum vitae registered at above site.
    2. Interviews (which will include a demonstration teaching session) for the finalists are scheduled to take place between September – October, 2017 at Waseda University (Tokyo). Interview transportation costs are to be borne by the applicant.
    3. Final result of the selection will be notified in mid-October 2017.
